Infamous site where reporter met 'Deep Throat' source in Watergate scandal slated for demolition

The Northern Virginia board has approved a plan that allows for the redevelopment of two office properties in Rosslyn, Virginia, which includes the site where Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward met with his confidential source, who leaked details of what would become the 1970s Watergate scandal.

The developer plans to replace the office buildings with apartments and ground-floor retail space, Patch.com reported. 

The parking garage beneath the building at 1401 Wilson Blvd. was one of the locations where Woodward met with the source who leaked information about the Watergate investigation. In 2005, former FBI Associate Director Mark Felt revealed he was the source the Post had up to that point only identified as "Deep Throat." 

The developer hasn't provided a construction timeline or anticipated completion date.
