Biden to sit down with Lester Holt in one-on-one interview next week
Holt's interview will be pre-taped in Austin, Texas next Monday and will air as a "special report" in the evening. Clips of the interview will be dropped on the website, and during “NBC Nightly News."
President Joe Biden will sit down for another on-camera interview with NBC's Lester Holt next week, apparently as part of recent efforts to qualm fears regarding his physical ability to remain commander-in-chief.
The interview comes after the president sat down with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos last week in his first interview after a lackluster presidential debate against former President Donald Trump. The debate left many in the Democratic Party frazzled over whether Biden had the mental and physical stamina to serve another four years.
Holt's interview will be pre-taped in Austin, Texas next Monday, July 15, and will air as a "prime-time special" in the evening. But clips of the interview will air during “NBC Nightly News," at 6:30 p.m. Eastern, the outlet reported.
The full interview will be broadcasted at 9 p.m. Eastern on Monday, and an unedited transcript of the interview will also be released on Monday night.
The sit-down interview will also take place during the first day of the Republican National Convention, where Trump is expected to officially receive the nomination to become the Republican nominee for president.
