Christiane Amanpour, CNN's chief international anchor, plans to leave the network in June.

Mark Thompson, CNN’s chief executive, said in a letter to newsroom employees that Amanpour "decided that the time is right to begin a new chapter" after 43 years with the network, NBC News reported.

Amanpour, 68, plans to "scale back" her CNN international show to once per week in early 2027, and the program will conclude in May.

"I’m very sorry to see her go, but I’ve come to accept that this is the right time for her, both personally and professionally," Thompson wrote.

During her career, Amanpour covered nearly every major international conflict and global crisis, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Bosnian War, and the Arab Spring. She's interviewed countless world leaders, including Bill Clinton, former Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, and Iranian presidents.
