Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, on Friday night promised to continue her husband's legacy in her first public address since the late conservative activist was murdered on Wednesday, and referred to him as a "martyr."

Charlie Kirk was one of the most influential voices on the right in recent years, notably founding Turning Point USA, which has chapters at universities across the country and hosts speakers' summits for young conservatives.

Erika Kirk largely reflected on her husband's mission and compassion toward people of all backgrounds, and his devotion to the United States as both a Republican and as a Christian. But she also warned "evildoers" that she would continue her husband's legacy.

"They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God's merciful love," the Arizonan said. "You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife, the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die."

Erika Kirk promised her husband in the speech that she would continue his campus tours and keep Turning Point USA running. She also said "America Fest" in Phoenix will go on as planned in December.

"In a world filled with chaos, doubt and uncertainty, my husband's voice will remain," she promised. "It will ring out louder and more clearly than ever and his wisdom will endure."

The widow additionally thanked her husband's supporters, Vice President JD Vance and his family, President Donald Trump and his family, and her husband's team for helping her and her family deal with the unexpected loss.

"Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for his courage and his faith," she said. "One of the final conversations that he had on this earth, my husband witnessed for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now and for all eternity, he will stand at his Savior's side, wearing the glorious crown of a martyr."
