Fox News anchor John Roberts was hospitalized and diagnosed with a severe case of malaria.
He confirmed the exclusive report from People Magazine on the social media platform, X.
Roberts told the magazine that he was diagnosed with malaria earlier this week, on Aug. 25.
“I had been hurting from the top of my head to the tip of my toes," he told the magazine. "Literally everywhere. I was also beset with uncontrolled shivering all during my show. Initially, I thought it was just muscle cramps and aches. But when I started shivering, I started to lean toward the flu."
When he received the diagnosis, he said he believed he could have contracted malaria while on vacation in Indonesia. He spent two weeks there.
He said he would be discharged soon from the hospital and hopefully return to work on September 2.
