New York Post announces new West Coast publication
The new publication's headquarters will be in Los Angeles.
Early next year, the New York Post will launch a West Coast version of the publication known as The California Post.
The Post's announcement Monday says the new publication will have a daily print edition as well as mobile and desktop sites, social media, video and audio material.
"This is the next manifestation of our national brand," said Keith Poole, The New York Post's editor-in-chief.
"California is the most populous state in the country, and is the epicenter of entertainment, the AI revolution and advanced manufacturing – not to mention a sports powerhouse," he said. "Yet many stories are not being told, and many viewpoints are not being represented. With The California Post, we will bring a common-sense, issue-based approach to metropolitan journalism."
The over 200-year-old publication founded by Alexander Hamilton will have its western headquarters in Los Angeles.
The California Post will offer the “unique and indispensable combination of fearless, common-sense journalism, celebrity and entertainment news, world-class sports reporting and the legendary covers people expect from The New York Post.”
Los Angeles readers purportedly make up the second-largest concentration of Post readers monthly reaching 3.5 million unique visitors.
