Trump complains as Fox News airs ex-NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio on midterm night

President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening complained as Fox News showed former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio during its coverage of the midterm elections.

In a Tuesday evening Truth Social post, Trump bemoaned de Blasio's appearance.

"Why does FoxNews have Bill de Blasio, the Worst Mayor in the History of New York City, on air, ranting and raving like a Lunatic?" he posted on Truth Social. "He left the City in disgrace, and the damage he caused was incalculable — It has never been the same, and now he’s telling us how to run America. FoxNews bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Dumocrat opposition, and worse."

De Blasio was succeeded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani in an unusual contest that saw the Democratic nominee face off against Republican Curtis Sliwa and independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, who lost the Democratic primary to Mamdani.

Trump has long favored the right-leaning news channel, but has genuinely been willing to take potshots at its personalities and guests. Earlier in the night, he said he would change the channel until Jessica Tarlov, a prominent critic of his, was off the screen.
