The hosts of ABC’s “The View” are having to go to obviously painful lengths to avoid lawsuits over some reckless and controversial comments they’ve made in recent days.

They were forced to issue four “legal notes” on their Friday show after allegations about some of President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees for Cabinet positions, according to the New York Post

“The legal notes — which are disclaimers provided by the subjects’ lawyers — pertained to remarks made on-air by the show’s stars Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.”

One example was regarding a segment in which they talked about former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y.  Behar brought up the fact that he faced 23 criminal charges. But moments later she received a message on her iPhone.

“One minute, I just got a note,” Behar announced. “We have to clarify that Santos eventually reached a plea deal after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.”

“Is that a legal note?” co-host Haines asked. “Kind of, it’s a clarification,” responded Behar.

Shortly thereafter, over a period of just a few minutes, co-host Sunny Hostin, a former prosecutor, had to read out three legal notes over allegations they had discussed about Matt Gaetz, Trump’s first pick for attorney general who later withdrew his own nomination, and Pete Hegseth, the nominee for secretary of Defense.

One viewer took to X to lodge a complaint about “The View.” “The View was forced to issue Four ‘Legal Notes’ today for their lies against, Matt Gaetz, Pam Bondi, George Santos, and Pete Hegseth,” the viewer claimed. “There is a pattern… They knowingly spread lies about Donald Trump and his allies… only to issue a ‘legal note’ minutes later to avoid the truth and legal repercussions.”
