The negotiations for a mineral between the U.S. and Ukraine have not been, Ukrainian officials said Friday.

The most recent proposal reviewed by Reuters, would require Ukraine give the profit from a fund that controls Ukrainian resources until it pays back the U.S. for aid sent during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said the country would give its position only if a new draft was written.

A senior official for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Reuters that there is no final draft as of now.

"Consultations are still happening at the level of the various ministries," he said, but did not elaborate.

The U.S. has been meeting with both Russia and Ukrainian officials to discuss potential plans for peace and to end the war that started in 2022.

The Trump administration also has not said the deal, which appears to be part of a larger cease-fire or peace-agreement between Ukraine and Russia, has been reached.
