Russia strikes Kyiv with missiles overnight, killing at least 8 people: Ukrainian officials
The attack is reported to be the biggest attack on Kyiv this year.
Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv overnight, killing at least eight people, Ukrainian officials said Thursday.
The attack injured at least 70 other people and many are trapped under rubble, according to Reuters.
Some buildings were struck, and the attack is reported to be the biggest on Kyiv this year.
"There has been destruction," the State Emergency Service wrote on Telegram. "The search is continuing for people under rubble."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the attacks proved that Russia did not want peace.
Russia and Ukraine are under pressure by the U.S. to sign a peace deal to end the three-year war.
