You Vote: With Fauci set to testify Wednesday following release of recordings, what do you expect?

House Oversight Chairman James Comer issued a warning Tuesday to former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci, stating the testimony he is slated to give Congress this week is not protected by former President Joe Biden's pardon.

Biden pardoned Fauci hours before the former president left office last year, and Fauci is scheduled to testify in front of the Senate Homeland Security committee on Wednesday. 

The expected testimony comes after hundreds of pages of his COVID-19 pandemic-era diary entries were made public.

"We now know why President Biden gave a blanket pardon to Dr. Fauci," Comer told Fox News. "While obsessing about his own fame, Fauci wasn't truthful with the American people about the origins of COVID and advised schools to be closed.

"Americans are still reaping the consequences of Dr. Fauci's actions," he continued. "Biden's pardon doesn't cover Dr. Fauci's testimony this week and if he continues to lie, he must be held accountable."

The testimony comes after Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul shared diary entries Fauci kept during the pandemic. The diaries have revealed a number of discrepancies between Fauci's public statements and what he was saying and thinking privately on a number of points, including the wearing of masks and the origins of the virus.
