Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino reportedly came back to work at the FBI on Monday, despite reports of him potentially leaving, but his future remains uncertain.

"FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino did show up for work at the FBI today, two sources tell me," CNN reporter Kristen Holmes wrote on the social media platform X. "Earlier in the day, sources said that he was in a better headspace today than last week after his blow-up with Attorney General Pam Bondi. His long-term future is still uncertain."

A reporter for Steve Bannon's War Room also reported that Bongino came into work.

Over the weekend, President Donald Trump said that Bongino was "in good shape" after the fallout over the Justice Department and FBI's report that there wasn't a client list of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to USA Today.

It was reported Friday that Bongino was debating stepping down unless Attorney General Pam Bondi resigned. The two reportedly had a fallout over how the Epstein documents were handled.

Epstein died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sexually abusing dozens of girls. His death was officially ruled a suicide.
