As Democrats search for next leadership, AOC put on venerable Hill newspaper's '28 presidential list
“She’s somebody who can cut through the noise and doesn’t talk like Washington," a Democratic strategist said, according to the outlet.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is on a list of potential Democratic candidates for 2028, according to reports.
The Hill put out a list of potential Democratic presidential candidates for 2028 and among them was Ocasio-Cortez, also known as "AOC."
“She’s somebody who can cut through the noise and doesn’t talk like Washington," a Democratic strategist said, according to the outlet.
They argued that she would massively appeal to young voters.
Another DNC strategist said that they were worried that running in 2028 would be way too early for her and she would harm her political career.
“She and the ‘squad’ started pushing too hard, too fast,” one strategist said. “D.C. doesn’t work that way. And our party doesn’t work that way. We need to get back to the basics.”
Other potential Democratic candidates include California Gov. Gavin Newsom and current Vice President Kamala Harris.
