Congress has until Friday to pass spending bill to avoid partial government shutdown

Congress has until Friday to avoid a partial government shutdown and negotiators are racing to beat the clock.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., did not unveil the framework of an agreement over the weekend. 

The text of the bill is expected to be released at some point on Monday or Tuesday after negotiators finalize a deal.

Aid to farmers has become a sticking point in negotiations.

The national debt is currently $36.1 trillion.
