SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday accused Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of committing treason and called her a "traitor to America," over her previous promise to safeguard Somali interests in the United States.

The treason allegation was in response to a clip of her addressing Somali constituents in Minnesota in January 2024, in which she claimed, "The U.S. government will do what we ask it to do ... While I am in Congress, no one will take Somalia's sea, and the U.S. government won't support others to rob us. Don't stress over it, Minnesotans."

"This sounds like treason," Musk posted on X on Wednesday morning in response to a clip of the speech posted by Joe Rogan.

Just The News has reached out to Omar's office for comment but has not heard back.

Another user shared a clip of Omar stating that she believes Musk is one of the "dumbest, luckiest people to exist on this Earth," despite his status as the richest man in the world.

"She is a traitor to America," Musk commented back to the clip.
