Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Wednesday sent letters to 76 Offices of Inspectors General (OIGs) requesting data on all sexual harassment claims that have been settled with taxpayer dollars over the last five years.

“Inspectors General are responsible for shining a light on government abuse. Of all federal divisions, OIGs ought to be the most forthcoming about potential employee misconduct, but that's not currently the case,” Grassley said.

“My oversight is aimed at strengthening trust with federal watchdogs to ensure justice for victims of sexual harassment. Even the watchdog needs to be watched,” he added.
