Homan tells AOC to do her job and 'pass some legislation' amid feud over potential DOJ probe

The pair have quarreled publicly in the past, with Ocasio-Cortez challenging the Justice Department to "come for me," over the webinar, stating she was using her "free speech rights in order to advise people of their constitutional protections."

Border Czar Tom Homan on Wednesday suggested that progressive New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should do her job by "passing some legislation," after she admitted she did not know if she was being investigated by the Justice Department.

Ocasio-Cortez previously asked Attorney General Pam Bondi whether she was being investigated for hosting a webinar in February that educated illegal migrants on how to interact with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

The congresswoman was asked about the investigation on Tuesday, but admitted she still did not know the answer. She also warned the Justice Department on Sunday that she would have a "problem" if they arrested her colleagues in New Jersey for protesting against an ICE facility in Newark last week.

Homan was asked about the recent comments during a trip to Capitol Hill, and expressed frustration at the New Yorker.

"I wish she'd do her job. She's a legislator, right? Why doesn’t she pass some legislation?" He told Fox News. "Actually improve this country like President Donald Trump is already doing? I'm doing my job: the border is secure. We arrested three times more criminals than [former President Joe] Biden did. We're doing our job. She should try doing her job."

Homan also shrugged off questions about the congresswoman's warning, and added that the three New Jersey Democrats should face consequences for the protest, including facing censure or removal from their committee assignments.

The pair have quarreled publicly in the past, with Ocasio-Cortez challenging the Justice Department to "come for me," over the webinar, stating she was using her "free speech rights in order to advise people of their constitutional protections."

Homan responded to the challenge by stating that the lawmaker "might be in trouble," but he has not commented on it since.
