House Democratic campaign arm releases list of 35 Republicans it believes are vulnerable in 2026
The announcement comes after the committee last month listed 26 Democratic incumbents that are seeking reelection, who they believe are not vulnerable to a Republican upset.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) on Tuesday released its target list for the 2026 midterms, which consists of 35 House Republicans it believes are vulnerable in next year's midterms.
The announcement comes after the committee last month listed 26 Democratic incumbents that are seeking reelection, who they believe are not vulnerable to a Republican upset.
National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Richard Hudson slammed the list in a statement, claiming it was a "political fantasy."
“The DCCC’s target list is a political fantasy. They’re pouring resources into deep-red Trump territory while ignoring the clear reality: The battlefield in 2024 is in our favor," Hudson said. "These districts aren’t trending blue, they’re getting redder. While Democrats chase seats that have consistently rejected their agenda, Republicans are focused on flipping competitive districts that are trending toward our message of common sense. The contrast couldn’t be clearer, and it shows which party has a real path to the majority.”
