House Democrats release new Epstein docs that include references to Elon Musk and Steve Bannon

Bannon was listed in the new documents regarding a breakfast with Epstein in 2019, and Republican donor Peter Thiel reportedly had a lunch scheduled with Epstein for Nov. 27, 2017. It is not clear if either of those meetings took place.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee on Friday released the latest batch of documents related to the late-financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein including ones that mention X owner Elon Musk and President Donald Trump acolyte Steve Bannon.

The House panel is investigating Epstein and his inner circle as lawmakers seek justice for his victims. The panel has already released a birthday book for Epstein that allegedly included a note from Trump, Epstein's last will and testament, entries from his address/contact books and information about his known bank accounts.

Democrats on the committee dropped six heavily redacted pages that appeared to come from Epstein's schedule, which included a note about Musk potentially visiting Epstein's island in 2014. Musk has acknowledged that he was invited to Epstein's island but never went.

The note about Musk questioned whether the visit was still happening. The meeting would have taken place after Epstein accepted a plea deal that forced him to register as a sex offender in 2007, but before he was charged in Manhattan federal court in connection with the sex-trafficking of minors. Epstein killed himself behind bars while awaiting trial.

Bannon was also listed in the new documents regarding a breakfast with Epstein in 2019, and Republican donor Peter Thiel reportedly had a lunch scheduled with Epstein for Nov. 27, 2017. It is not clear whether either of those meetings took place.

“It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” Sara Guerrero, a spokesperson for Oversight Democrats, told Politico. “Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims.”

A spokesperson for Republicans on the panel slammed Democrats for allegedly cherry-picking the data that it released.

“It’s unfortunate that Democrats continue to meaninglessly cherry-pick documents and politicize this investigation,” the spokesperson said. “They are intentionally withholding documents that contain names of Democrat officials, and the information they released today is old news.”

The new documents do not tie Musk, Bannon or Thiel to any wrongdoing and none of them have been accused of any crimes.
