House Ethics Committee reviewing complaint against Georgia GOP Rep Mike Collins
The committee said it would decide its next actions in the case on or before Jan. 5, 2026, and that the announcement of its review "does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee."
The House Ethics Committee said Friday that it is reviewing a complaint against Georgia GOP Rep. Mike Collins and his chief of staff, Brandon Phillips, which was brought by the Office of Congressional Conduct last month.
The release confirming the review did not provide details on the allegations in the complaint, but it comes as the lawmaker gears up for his Senate campaign to unseat Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff next year.
The committee said it would decide its next actions in the case on or before Jan. 5, 2026, and that the announcement of its review "does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee."
A spokesperson for Collins told Just The News that the "bogus referral is nothing but a desperate and baseless attack by Rep. Collins' political opponents."
"We look forward to the Ethics Committee completing its work and this frivolous complaint being dismissed," the person continued. "Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
