House Oversight Chairman James Comer on Thursday reportedly secured interviews with some of former President Joe Biden's top officials, including former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Comer requested the interviews earlier this month, having asked Jean-Pierre, former White House counsel office spokesperson Ian Sams, senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, and chief of staff Jeff Zients to sit for interviews.

The four have all now agreed to be interviewed in August and September, The Hill reported. It is not clear when each interview will take place, but it is part of the committee's larger investigation into Biden's mental acuity during his term as president.

“The scope of your responsibilities—both official and otherwise—and personal interactions within the Oval Office cannot go without investigation, given the mounting evidence that President Biden was incapacitated for much, if not all, of his single term,” Comer wrote in letters to both Sams and Bates.

“If White House staff carried out a strategy lasting months or even years to hide the chief executive’s condition—or to perform his duties—Congress may need to consider a legislative response," he added.

Comer has also subpoenaed multiple members of the Biden administration, including former White House physician Kevin O'Connor and former deputy White House chief of staff Annie Tomasini.

Jean-Pierre's expected testimony comes after she repeatedly denied witnessing the former president's alleged worsening mental acuity, including after the presidential debate last year between Biden and President Donald Trump.

The probe is also focusing on Biden's use of an autopen to issue controversial pardons at the end of his term, and whether he authorized the use of the pen for those pardons. Biden has claimed that he is responsible for the pardons.
