MTG says 'women of maturity' should unite to pave a 'new path' for the country
"I believe that people with powerful voices like myself and like you and especially women-to-women, we need to pave a new path," Greene said. "This country, our beautiful country. Our red, white and blue flag, is just being ripped to shreds, and I think it takes women of maturity to sew it back together."
Georgia firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday continued her criticism of House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republican men, declaring that "women of maturity" should unite to pave a "new path" in the country.
Greene, a Republican, recently emerged as a vocal critic of some aspects of the Republican Party and the Trump administration. She has primarily separated from the party on issues like the war in Israel, healthcare funding and the cost of living in the U.S.
The Georgian, who was known for being a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump in 2020, told the hosts of "The View" that it was time for women to pave a new path forward in the country after the hosts praised her for being civil.
"I believe that people with powerful voices like myself and like you and especially women-to-women, we need to pave a new path," Greene said. "This country, our beautiful country. Our red, white and blue flag, is just being ripped to shreds, and I think it takes women of maturity to sew it back together."
Greene claimed that she still loved the president but said there was a "pissing contest in Washington D.C." among GOP men.
"When I talk about weak Republican men, I am pretty much talking oftentimes about the leadership in the House and Senate, and they are just not getting our agenda done," she said in reference to Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
Greene also rejected allegations that she was becoming more liberal, stating that she believed there were lies coming from both political parties, like the Russia collusion case from Democrats, and that both parties mishandled the Jeffrey Epstein probe.
“You are all victims of the political industrial complex,” Greene said. “It’s built on fundraising and fighting and toxic — just garbage, and that exists all over social media. That’s not going to solve our problems in this country.”
