Progressive lawmaker suggests illegal immigrants should receive reparations

Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., suggested that illegal immigrants should receive reparations for the way they have been treated under the Trump administration.
She said that those involved in the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration could be charged criminally under a future Democratic administration.
“We need real accountability because at the end of the day, the people that have been inflicting this harm need to be prosecuted,” Jayapal said at the hearing, “Kidnapped and Disappeared: Trump’s Attack on Our Children.”
