Wisconsin GOP Rep. Bryan Steil on Monday said that no one is above the law in reference to a judge who allegedly helped an illegal migrant evade arrest.

"This is where it's really important that we don't allow anyone to be above the law," Steil said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. "Yes, Judge Dugan is entitled to her day in court, but she is not entitled to special treatment."

Last week, FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of a Milwaukee judge who allegedly obstructed an immigration arrest.

Patel said that Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested on obstruction charges.

"When you read the criminal complaint, the allegations against the judge about assisting this defendant, who is being charged with battery in a Milwaukee County Court, in allowing this individual or assisting this individual to exit and evade arrest, it's incredibly concerning," Steil said.

Patel said the FBI believes Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents to make sure the migrant, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, wasn't arrested.
