In debut DOGE subcommittee hearing, Chair Greene say panel to probe Medicaid payments
"This is not the time for political theater and partisan attacks," Greene said. "The American people are watching."
GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Wednesday at the first hearing for the House Oversight Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, which she leads, will investigate alleged improper Medicaid and Medicare payments by the federal government.
"This week, we turn our attention to improper payments by the federal government, including Medicaid and Medicare," Chairwoman Greene, of Georgia, said during her opening statements.
The forming of the subcommittee takes after President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, which has a goal to make government more efficient and to eliminate government waste.
The hearing will have witnesses, including a former FBI agent who will testify on what he thinks has been wasteful spending by the federal government.
"This is not the time for political theater and partisan attacks," Greene said. "The American people are watching."
