Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson on Monday said they are asking the National Archives for records related to the Biden administration's investigations into President Donald Trump.

The Republican-led committee has been probing the Biden administration FBI's Arctic Frost investigation, which formed the basis of former Special Counsel Jack Smith's false elector case, along with other Biden administration investigations into Trump.

The senators asked the archives last week for all records between or among Department of Justice, FBI and Biden White House officials referring or relating to the election interference case, and the investigation into Trump's handling of classified documents after his first term in the Oval Office.

The two Republicans also asked the archives for all of its internal records related to the two investigations, including communications with former President Joe Biden's White House and the archives' inspector general's office.
