Senate subcommittee says it has obtained copy of Fauci's iPhone he used during pandemic

A Senate subcommittee tasked with investigating Dr. Anthony Fauci said that it has obtained a copy of the doctor's iPhone he used during the COVID pandemic. 

Fauci was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during the time he was using the phone, and it may contain more records of his activity during that period. 

Fauci has been under intense scrutiny over the past couple of weeks following the release of thousands of documents, which Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., dubbed "Fauci's diary." The probe included testimony before the Senate Homeland Security Committee, in which he invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times. 

The Department of Health and Human Services transferred the copy of the iPhone to the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which is chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the Wall Street Journal reported. 

What material is on the copy of the phone may be revealed as more documents are released in the coming weeks. Paul and Johnson have millions of pages of additional material from government servers, and four GOP states are initiating their own investigations into Fauci.
