Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson said President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed from office if he is seriously considering being the first to use nuclear weapons in a conflict such as the Iran War.

Carlson, a longtime Trump ally who has become increasingly critical of the president over the war in Iran, made the comments during a discussion with former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent.

While stressing that he opposed Trump’s first two impeachments, Carlson said a president considering a first-use nuclear strike would cross the line.

“The second any president actively considers first use of nuclear weapons, that person should be removed from office immediately,” Carlson said, arguing that a willingness to initiate a nuclear exchange demonstrated that a leader was unfit for office.
