The Senate is set to vote on advancing the House-passed six-month Continuing Resolution on Friday afternoon. If no final vote takes place by midnight then the government will shut down on Saturday.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday indirectly slammed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer after he indicated he would support advancing the GOP-led bill that funds the government through September.

Schumer on Thursday flip-flopped when he told senators on the chamber floor that he would actually support ending debate on the bill, which would clear the resolution to pass along partisan lines.

Pelosi said that Democratic senators need to "listen to the women" in the Senate, who have presented a counter resolution that would keep the government funded for just 30 days. Schumer previously expressed support for the 30-day option.

The comment comes as other Democrats urge Schumer to step down as minority leader over his willingness to advance the bill. Schumer said that he does not support the bill, but that a federal government shutdown would be worse.
