D.C. court ruling prevents Trump admin from using system to verify U.S. citizenship of voters

The D.C. Circuit ruled that the Trump administration cannot use a system to verify U.S. citizenship of voters.

The Trump administration requested the court halt a lower court ruling that blocked its expansion of the Systematic Alien Verification Entitlements (SAVE) database.

The U.S. Court of Appeals rejected the request 2-1.

The system would allow states to bulk search Department of Homeland Security and Social Security data, according to court documents.
