Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and madam of late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, is opposing the public release of grand jury transcripts related to her criminal case as she appeals her conviction.

"Ghislaine Maxwell has not seen the material and cannot take an informed position," her attorney told the court. "Given that she is actively litigating her case and does not know what is in the grand jury record, she has no choice but to respectfully oppose the government's motion to unseal it."

Attorney General Pam Bondi has asked the court to unseal the transcripts as part of a bid to bring some transparency over the Epstein case, which has dogged the administration for months.

Maxwell, however, is in the process of appealing her conviction for sex-trafficking and has argued that she should have been shielded from prosecution by an agreement that Epstein made with federal prosecutors.

Her attorneys, moreover, have publicly expressed hope for a pardon from President Donald Trump, though he has indicated that he hadn't considered such a move.
