Menendez brothers denied parole

Erik and Lyle Menendez were denied parole after two days of hearings where the brothers were each questioned by panels of two commissioners, the Associated Press reported.

The Menendez brothers have both been denied parole by a California board after serving prison time since 1996 for shooting and killing their parents in 1989 at their mansion in Beverly Hills.

When the killings occurred, Lyle was 21, and Erik was 18.

The brothers were denied parole after two days of hearings where the brothers were each questioned by panels of two commissioners, the Associated Press reported. 

They each received three-year denials.

The AP reported that each of them will be able to request an administrative review of the decision to deny parole one year from now. 

The earliest they could appear before a parole board again is after 18 months.
