Missouri AG slams Biden admin for rule he says requires hospitals to perform gender transitions
"This a disgraceful attempt by the Biden administration to rewrite Obamacare to require hospitals and doctors to perform radical life altering gender mutilation surgeries on children," AG Andrew Bailey said.
Missouri GOP Attorney General Andrew Bailey slammed the Biden administration for attempting to "rewrite" Obamacare and require hospitals and doctors to perform gender-transition surgeries.
According to Bailey, hospitals could perform these surgeries on minors.
"This a disgraceful attempt by the Biden administration to rewrite Obamacare to require hospitals and doctors to perform radical, life-altering gender mutilation surgeries on children," he said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.
"We see them pushing a woke left-wing agenda at the expense of the health and safety of children and violating state law, and shame on them for trying to use taxpayer dollars to force this issue," he added.
On Wednesday, seven attorneys general filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration, referencing Section 1157 of the Affordable Care Act.
Section 1157 has been expanded under the Biden administration and according to Bailey, the changes being made would force "healthcare providers to perform harmful gender-transition intervention procedures and [force] states to pay for these procedures," according to NBC Montana.
Bailey said he and the other state attorney generals are "fighting back" in a coalition.
