Missouri sues Starbucks over DEI practices, alleging it has led to slower service
The complaint alleges that Starbucks' DEI policies have led to unqualified workers being hired.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a lawsuit against Starbucks alleging the coffee chain has diversity, equity and inclusion hiring policies that have resulted in "unlawful discrimination."
Bailey alleges in the lawsuit filed Tuesday the policies, specifically "race-and-sex-based hiring practices," have led to unqualified workers being hired and that customer service has been slower and prices have increased, according to CBS News.
Starbucks said in a response to the suit that its hiring practices were both fair and inclusive.
"We are deeply committed to creating opportunity for every single one of our partners (employees)," "Our programs and benefits are open to everyone and lawful," the company also said.
