Read: North Carolina grand jury indictment of former FBI Director James Comey

A grand jury in North Carolina on Tuesday indicted former FBI Director James Comey on two federal crimes related to an alleged threat he made against President Donald Trump on social media last year.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Comey faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the two federal charges. He has been charged with making a threat against the president and transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.
