Trump taps Todd Butler to serve on the 5th Circuit
The 5th Circuit is currently regarded as one of the more conservative circuits and has previously handed Trump several wins in critical cases.
President Donald Trump on Thursday announced his nomination of attorney Todd Butler to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
The 5th Circuit handles cases from Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Butler is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Mississippi College of Law and has previously argued before the court.
"Todd has the unwavering support of Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith," he posted on Truth Social. "The wonderful people of the Great State of Mississippi (one of my favorites!), and the rest of the Fifth Circuit, can count on Todd to protect the Constitution and the Rule of Law. Congratulations Todd!"
