Two ex-FBI agents who investigated Trump sue over firings
The ex-agents filed a 1st Amendment complaint, alleging the bureau retaliated against them for perceived political affiliations.
A pair of FBI agents who worked on investigations into President Donald Trump are suing the administration, saying they were wrongfully terminated.
The lawsuit indicates that both agents worked on Operation Arctic Frost, an investigation that later evolved into special counsel Jack Smith's probe. The two agents allege that FBI Director Kash Patel summarily fired both of them after congressional investigations into Arctic Frost led to the naming of one plaintiff and the investigation's labeling as a "partisan" operation.
The ex-agents filed a 1st Amendment complaint, alleging the bureau retaliated against them for perceived political affiliations. They further alleged that the firings violated the 5th Amendment and that they were entitled to certain inquiries and processes before their firings.
The suit names Patel, Attorney General Pam Bandi, and the Department of Justice as defendants.
