New York Gov. Hochul's pardon ends Supreme Court case concerning bond rights for noncitizens
As a result of Hochul's pardon, Mariano is no longer deportable. Solicitor General John Sauer agreed Friday that the case in now moot, but he said the Trump administration will seek an "alternative vehicle" to challenge the lower court's ruling.

Nazira Haji Zada, a 47-year-old Afghan woman living in Fort Worth, Texas, was deported last month through the unusual court, and she agreed to accept the "terrorist" label that bars her from ever returning to the United States.
