Qatari Airways is expected to announce a major deal with Boeing on Wednesday that would be announced during President Donald Trump's visit to the country, NewsNation reported Tuesday.

Trump is currently on his first major international trip of his second term, which includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The president will visit Qatar on Wednesday afternoon local time.

The airline is set to announce that it has reached a deal to purchase 150 aircraft from Boeing, a source told the outlet, with the option to purchase more in the future.

The move aligns with the Trump administration's push to have foreign countries invest in American businesses and manufacturing.

Trump on Tuesday said he has secured $600 billion in investments from Saudi Arabia, including a $20 billion investment in artificial intelligence data centers in the United States.

The Qatari government is also expected to give the U.S. government a luxury Boeing 747 to be used as a new Air Force One, but it would not be presented during Trump's trip on Wednesday. The move has been met with backlash from lawmakers who are concerned the luxurious gift could be viewed as a bribe, but Trump has signaled his intent to accept it.
