The Biden administration on Monday lifted several Trump-era restrictions on Cuba, saying the removal of certain sanctions would help the Cuban people.

The next day, administration officials said they were preparing to ease sanction on Venezuela to encourage peaceful negotiations between the regime of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and the opposition.
