Fed probing executors of Jeffrey Epstein estate: WSJ

Federal prosecutors have launched an investigation into the executors of the late Jeffrey Epstein's estate, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing "people familiar with the matter."

The probe marks the latest development in the ongoing legal and political saga of Epstein's sex-trafficking activities. Public demand for transparency on the prosecution, investigation, death, and possible accomplices of Epstein has dogged the Trump administration since early in his second term.

New York-based federal prosecutors have begun investigating Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, who served as Epstein's lawyer and accountant, respectively. Both currently serve as executors of the Epstein estate.

The scope of the investigation remains unclear and the WSJ indicated that it could not determine what charges may be on the table for either man.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, President Donald Trump campaigned on releasing the Epstein files, though the eventual rollout of those documents suffered from delays. Then-Attorney General Pam Bondi created a media firestorm in early 2025 through a botched PR stunt that saw her distribute binders of largely public information to influencers.

Congress later passed legislation forcing the Department of Justice to release additional files, which Trump signed.

As of press time, only Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's madame and girlfriend, was convicted of any crimes, apart from Epstein himself.
