President Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan on Wednesday night strongly rejected allegations that he took a $50,000 bribe from undercover FBI agents who worked for the Biden administration.

MSNBC reported last month that the Biden administration's FBI filmed Homan allegedly accepting a $50,000 bribe from undercover agents and saying he could help them secure government contracts under the Trump administration.

The White House has stood by the border czar amid the allegations and accused the Biden FBI of trying to entrap Homan.

“I didn’t take $50,000 from anybody,” Homan said during NewsNation’s “Cuomo” town hall. “I recused myself from any discussions of any contract or any monetary decisions like that, because I used to have a company that did consulting, so I cleared myself. Day one, what people don’t talk about is I took a significant, huge pay cut to come back and serve my nation, and I’m not enriching myself.”

The Trump official also characterized the MSNBC report as a "hit piece." It marks his strongest rejection of the allegations after he claimed last month that he never committed a crime, but did not specifically state he did not accept money.

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche last month said the bureau and Justice Department looked into the allegations of bribery and found "no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing," and closed the probe.
