Justice Department charges four aliens in Pennsylvania with election fraud

The Department of Justice announced Thursday that four aliens, including two illegal aliens, have been charged in Pennsylvania with election fraud for election-related activity, including two migrants who are allegedly in the country illegally. 

The migrants have been identified as Mexican national Eduardo Gallardo Maldonado, Trinidad & Tobago national Sade Guppy, Dilea Ochoa-Perez, who is in the country illegally from Mexico, and Cliff Sanon an illegal migrant from Haiti.

“Our sovereignty as a nation belongs to the American people and no one else,” United States Attorney David Metcalf said in a statement. “Anyone, including illegal aliens, who votes illegally in our elections will be prosecuted for corrupting our democracy.”

Sanon, who is 39-years-old, faces the heaviest charge and was charged by criminal complaint with one count of submitting a fraudulent voter registration application. The department claimed the latest voter registration application marked his eighth fraudulent voter registration application, and he also allegedly voted in the November 2022 election illegally.

The defendant faces up to five years in prison for his crime, up to one year of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.

Ochoa-Perez was charged by information with two counts of voting as an alien after she allegedly voted illegally in the 2022 and 2024 November general elections in Chester County, Pennsylvania. If convicted, she faces up to two years of imprisonment, one year of supervised release, a $200,000 fine, and a $50 special assessment. 

Guppy and Maldonado both face one charge of voting as an alien for voting in the 2022 and 2024 elections and face up to one year of imprisonment, one year of supervised release, a $100,000 fine, and a $25 special assessment if convicted.

“Voting by noncitizens is illegal and has real consequences for the American public,” Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Nathan Abel said in a statement. “Every unlawful ballot can undermine confidence in the election process and diminish the voices of American citizens. HSI Philadelphia remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to investigate election-related fraud and help protect the integrity of U.S. elections.”
