Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her staff were refused entry to the Village of Broadview municipal building Friday while in the Chicago area to visit a federal immigration processing center.

Noem shared a video on social media showing her group approaching the municipal building and asking to use the restrooms.

“No, you cannot,” said a voice at the door.

The secretary left and said the incident served as evidence that local law enforcement in the area aren't cooperating with ICE.

“This is a public building. The Village of Broadview receives at least $1 million in federal funding every year,” Noem wrote. “This is how JB Pritzker and his cronies treat our law enforcement. Absolutely shameful.”

Broadview reportedly said the secretary’s arrival was unannounced and that she had requested a meeting with Mayor Katrina Thompson, who was not there at the time, according to the local news.

“The video doesn’t show the full story,” said Broadview spokesperson David Ormsby.
