Patel: Feds have made more than 1,000 arrests in D.C.

FBI Director Kash Patel said Monday that federal agents have made more than 1,000 arrests in Washington, D.C., since President Donald Trump started the federal takeover of the capital.

"All federal partners are now at over 1,000 arrests under @POTUS initiative to clean up Washington DC," Patel posted on X. "Latest from @FBI August 24-25: 26 arrests involving FBI personnel, 6 gun recoveries, 5 drug seizures, 86 individuals arrested by federal partners total. Keep getting after it."

Trump on Monday touted the lack of murders in D.C. since the federal takeover of the city. There have been no reported murders in D.C. for more than one week under Trump's federal crime crackdown.

Vice President JD Vance said Monday that he talked to local law enforcement, who told him there was about one murder every other day in D.C. before the federal takeover.
