About 10,000 buildings destroyed in LA wildfires, at least 10 people killed

President Joe Biden says the federal government will cover 100% of the costs for "180 days" for the initial disaster response.

About 10,000 buildings have been destroyed, 180,000 people have evacuated and at least 10 people have been killed in the California wildfires, according to the latest reports.

The Palisades Fire, which is still active, has already burned more than 20,000 acres, the city’s fire chief said. 

The Eaton Fire has burned nearly 14,000 acres and the Kenneth Fire, which began Thursday in the Calabasas and Hidden Hills areas, rapidly burnt about 1,000 acres, according to the Los Angeles Times.

President Joe Biden said the federal government will cover 100% of the costs of the initial disaster response for 180 days.
