Columnist George Will says he wants Zohran Mamdani to win NYC mayor race
"I think every 20 years or so, we need a conspicuous, confined experiment with socialism so we can crack it up again," Will says
Conservative Washington Post columnist George Will told "Real Time" host Bill Maher that he wants Zohran Mamdani to win the New York City mayor race.
During his show on Friday, Maher described Mamdani as a "straight-up communist" based on his policy positions and past political rhetoric.
Will cut off Maher and said, "I want him to win. I think every 20 years or so, we need a conspicuous, confined experiment with socialism so we can crack it up again."
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Will said he left the Republican Party over his opposition to Trump.
In the 2020 presidential campaign, Will said he was going to vote for Biden.
“Make sure he loses,” he said. “Grit their teeth for four years and win the White House.”
