A Virginia medical examiner's office has concluded that former Biden U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber, who passed away in March, died of epilepsy.

The office said that Aber's cause of death was "sudden unexpected death in epilepsy," The Virginian-Pilot reported Monday.

Aber, 43, was found dead in her home in Alexandria, Virginia, home. The Alexandria Police Department said that no foul play was suspected.

"At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes," police said in a statement at the time.

Aber’s family said in a statement at the time that she died in her sleep and “suffered from epilepsy and epileptic seizures for many years.”

Aber was the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from October 2021 until she resigned on Jan. 20, when President Trump took office.

In her resignation letter, she called her role "an honor beyond measure," Fox News reported.

She prosecuted cases involving leaks from the CIA and Russian nationals engaged in fraud in the U.S. during her tenure.
