Virginia's GOP Rep. John McGuire on Wednesday night confirmed reports that multiple sheriff's deputies were shot in Pittsylvania County.

A local news outlet reported that three deputies sustained non-life-threatening injuries at a home in Gretna, Virginia.

Gretna is part of Pittsylvania County, which is located in southern Virginia, near the border of North Carolina, per the Associated Press

"My thoughts and prayers are with the deputies who were shot in Pittsylvania County, as well as their families," McGuire posted on X. "We are closely following the situation and keeping everyone affected in our hearts during this difficult time."

A public official told WDBJ that the deputies were serving warrants at the house at the time of the shooting. The motive for the shooting and reason for the warrants were not immediately clear.
