One person killed in shooting at 'No Kings' protest in Salt Lake City: police

"Detectives allege he raised an AR-15-style rifle and ran toward the crowd, prompting a person to fire three rounds, one of which tragically struck Mr. Ah Loo," police say

A bystander was shot and killed on Saturday evening during a "No Kings" protest in Salt Lake City, Utah, officials said.

"Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, was shot and killed while attending the permitted event. Our detectives believe he was an innocent bystander. Arturo Gamboa, 24, was arrested and booked into jail on a charge of murder," police said on social media.

"Detectives allege he raised an AR-15-style rifle and ran toward the crowd, prompting a person to fire three rounds, one of which tragically struck Mr. Ah Loo. Chief Brian Redd extended his condolences to Mr. Ah Loo’s family and those affected by this traumatic event," police also said.

The police are "asking anyone with photos or videos from before, during, or immediately after the incident to upload them using the QR code."
